Cookie Policy
About this policy
This policy explains how Total Foodservice uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) when you use our online store, what they do, and the choices you have. Our store runs on the Ordertools platform, which sets and reads these cookies on our behalf.
Last updated: July 2026.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember things about your visit — like keeping you signed in or remembering your basket. We also use browser local storage for similar purposes; this policy covers both.
Essential cookies
Essential cookies are required for the store to work and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as signing in, choosing your cookie preferences, and ordering.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| ot_consent | Records the cookie choices you have made on this store, so we do not ask you again on every visit. | 6 months |
| selected_account_id | Remembers which ordering account you are currently using, so prices, products and your basket stay correct. | 12 months |
| __session, __client_uat and related sign-in cookies | Keep you signed in securely and protect your account. Set by our authentication provider (Clerk). | Session, refreshed while you use the site |
| sidebar_state | Remembers whether the site navigation is expanded or collapsed. | 7 days |
Optional cookies
Optional cookies are only set with your permission. Until you make a choice, none of them are used. You can change your choices at any time from the cookie settings page.
Performance
Performance cookies assist us in delivering and maintaining Total Foodservice services — keeping the site fast and reliable, investigating issues and supporting customer queries. We do not track you across other websites.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Performance measurement | Our page-speed and reliability monitoring (Vercel Speed Insights) and error monitoring (Sentry) are cookieless — they do not set cookies or store identifiers on your device. Enabling this category allows any future performance tooling that does need to store data. | — |
Third-party services
Some cookies above are set by services we use to run the store: Clerk (secure sign-in), Twilio Segment (our analytics pipeline), and Algolia (product search). Our hosting provider's performance monitoring (Vercel) and our error monitoring (Sentry) are cookieless — they do not store identifiers on your device, and we do not use session recording. These providers process this data on our behalf.
Managing your preferences
You can review and change your choices at any time on the cookie settings page. Your decision is remembered for 6 months, after which we will ask again. We will also ask again if this policy or our use of cookies materially changes.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of the store working — for example signing in and ordering.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the store changes. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed. If you have questions about how Total Foodservice uses cookies, please contact us using the details on our website.
