5th Regiment Royal Artillery Pilgrimage

A long standing member of staff at Total Foodservice, Andrew Crossley distribution manager at our Huddersfield depot has a working history to be extra proud of. From 1979 to 1989 Andrew served with the 5th Regiment Royal Artillery.

During his time with the 5th Regiment Royal Artillery Andrew made many friends for life and became part of a family. After completing service these 'brothers in arms' typically do not get to see each other often, and so 7 years ago a group of 20 made a Pilgrimage to the National Memorial Arboretum, this became an annual tradition to remember and pay respect to their comrades who did not come back from operations and those who have subsequently stept of the room too early.

Andrew joined the pilgrimage 3 years ago, now including a parade which gives the comrades an emotional connection with the fallen, followed by a BBQ and get together at the local Legion club to give the friends, who might not have seen each other years, a chance to reminisce.

Andrew is, rightfully, extremely proud to part of such an emotional event and so to show our support Total Foodservice this year contributed towards the food for the 2019 BBQ.

Simon Tattersall, president of the 5th Regiment Royal Artillery Pilgrimage said "On behalf of myself, my committee team and all the Pilgrims I would like to thank you for your extremely generous contribution to the food supplied to us for our Pilgrimage on Saturday 13th July. There were people here this time, for the first time, who I have not seen for over 35 years, the years faded away as we reminisced about our days serving for the Regiment."
