British Pie Week
What is it about pies that we love so much? For us at Total Foodservice it’s their versatility and scrumminess. Whether we want something hot or cold, sweet or savoury, vegetarian or meaty, a hand-held snack lunch or sit down posh meal – a pie is the answer!
Not only that, once we’ve decided how and where we want to eat our pie and what we want in it, there’s the choice of pastry too: shortcrust, suet, hot water crust, puff and flaky. And then do we opt for a pop-it-all-in-your-mouth bite-size mini pie, or a more belly-busting Desperate Dan type?

Whatever YOUR preference, British Pie Week, which this year runs from 4-10 March, is the perfect opportunity to celebrate all that’s brilliant about one of the nation’s favourite foods, by making pie a feature on your menu and creating British Pie Week offers – for example, perhaps thinking about which ales complement particular pies and offering added value Pie and a Pint special menu choices. And why not introduce a special ‘pie of the day’ such as one of Total Foodservice’s premium pies – Chicken, Leek and Wiltshire Ham or Steak, Mushroom and Irish Stout, both wrapped in delicious butter enriched shortcrust pastry? Or you could create your own special fillings and save valuable kitchen time by simply topping individual pie dishes with one of our ready to use puff pastry pie lids, or using our ready rolled puff or shortcrust pastry to encase your delicious fillings.
