Total Foodservice became a founding member of Fairway Foodservice in 1984 along with 4 other frozen food wholesale distribution companies.

Set up to offer catering customers the benefit of national buying power but with local service, Fairway is now a network of 21 independent food distributors servicing the catering industry throughout the U.K. and Eire and even into the Spanish Costas and Balearic Islands. The collective turnover in 1984 was £7 million; today the turnover is in excess of £220m and comprises 21 companies operating from 28 depots.

Fairway Foodservice plc. negotiates on behalf of its Member companies with service-suppliers and product manufacturers and co-ordinates the Members purchasing to effect best cost price for the collective volumes. This is achieved by being efficient in communication of the benefits to the whole group of co-ordination and co-operation.

Through Fairway's bulk purchasing power, Total Foodservice is able to pass on cost efficiencies to our customers – something which other independent foodservice suppliers may not have the support network to do. This makes our pricing highly competitive against many of the big corporates.

Fairway has members representing distribution coverage all over the country which means that through Fairway membership, Total Foodservice can commit to work with independent chains who may have branches outside of our usual delivery area by utilising the distribution channels of fellow Fairway members.
