Our Environment and Community
As a family business it is essential for us that we put something back into the community and environment to secure the futures of our families and planet. To help us do this the company engages in a number of community activities, charity fundraising as well as promoting the use of environmentally friendly cleaning products. We have also ensured that where ever we can and where commercially viable, we operate in an environmentally preferred way.

Supporting the Community.
It is important to us to support the local community in which we work. Here are some examples of how we have done this in the past:
Fundraising for local charities.
Sponsorship Huddersfield Town Football Club
Sponsorship of a local junior football team
Working within colleges and schools to help teach about the supply chain and also to promote healthy eating.
Deliveries and Drivers.
We operate sophisticated system of routing strategy which makes the most from routing delivery vehicles with the target of reduced fuel usage. Drivers throughout the company are trained to SAFED guidelines encouraging more fuel efficient driving techniques and reducing the companies fuel contribution overall. Our company vehicle policy also specifies low emissions vehicles with many of our sales team driving Hybrid cars.
Product Sourcing.
We seek to buy as locally as possible with food miles and their impact on carbon footprint always at the forefront. We work closely with small local producers to help them market and promote regionally and we utilise networks that assist with provenance purchases, encouraging caterers to promote local produce where viable.
Rainwater Recycling.
Rainwater is collected from our warehouse roof into a tank which is then used for washing our vehicles and flushing our toilets.
Staff Awareness.
Energy savings and reductions are a social responsibility that we encourage and have made changes to help staff understand and buy into. We use electrical equipment with defaulted "sleep" facility, PIR lights in the warehouses and efficient running on our warehouse chillers.
Waste Management and Procurement.
All departments have a dedicated approach to reducing waste company wide. Empowered through departmental managers we have a directive which encourage the identification, understanding and management of recyclable waste and a measurement system which monitors the amount of waste we produce. Similarly we execute a waste conscious approach to buying products that are sensitive and reactive to packaging and waste management.
Cardboard Box Renewal Scheme.
Collection and reuse of dry cardboard boxes from our customer base and actively rewarding our delivery drivers to collect and return good, dry boxes to the depot.
Depot Recycling.
From bailing card and recycling office paper to separating plastics, all with the aim of recycling in every aspect of the depots operations.
